The new Francis A. Gregory Neighborhood Library, designed by award-winning architecture team of Adjaye Associates and Wiencek Associates, opened on June 19, 2012 with Mayor Gray and other city officials at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m.

Metalwërks® created the diamond shaped trellis panels that created the roof canopy shade elements which were attached to the canopy roof structure. Each of the more than 50 panels had a slightly different pitch angle with a perimeter frame and diamond shaped fins.
