West Philadelphia’s University City neighborhood is recognized as one of the leading innovation districts around the country. Anchored by the University City Science Center – a 50+ year old organization focused on business incubation, programming, and support services for entrepreneurs and start-ups – uCity Square is a 14 acre, 2.5M sq ft mixed-use community positioned between Penn Presbyterian Hospital (an affiliate of Penn Medicine), Drexel University, and University of Pennsylvania.

The project included 15,000 sq ft of Metalwërks® Arcwall™ Advanced systems at the entrance & lobby canopies, wall façade and cantilevered soffits with Metalwërks® Column Cladding and custom 11 gauge stainless skirt panels . All Panels feature back-cut panel corners for sharp, crisp 1/16” radius bends. Panel finishes include 3 coat metallic silver and 2 coat Gray PPG Duranar Finishes. Panel Modules were established early based on a 63” curtainwall design module which exceeded many company 60” designs. Additionally, the design team wanted the back-cut corner bends to match existing panel work on the adjacent building. The project achieved LEED Gold Certification.
